About — Karthik Krishnaswamy

Hi, I’m Karthik Krishnaswamy, a journalist by day and a photographer by (mostly) night. I live and work in Bengaluru.

Not having to make a living from photography allows me to photograph for pleasure, with no immediate purpose but to grasp at fragments of the world that I’m drawn to, and to hold onto them, hoard them, and puzzle over them. Over time, patterns and preoccupations emerge and become starting points for loosely-defined series or projects, whose concerns lean towards evoking mood and memory rather than pinning down specific times and places, leaving room for the viewer’s imagination and experiences to shape the work’s narrative.
